Service FAQs

FAQS around services & COVID 19

DO I NEED TO BOOK FOR CHURCH?

No. From September onwards we are not using a booking system. We may need to bring back some booking if we struggle with capacity or if the situation locally with COVID 19 worsens. You are welcome to come along to any service at All Saints and to bring friends and family members too.

WHAT IF I HAVE COVID SYMPTOMS?

Please do not attend if you currently have any symptoms of Coronavirus.  Please follow NHS guidelines  and arrange to have a COVID test. Tune into the service via the livestream and come back when you are healthy.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE STILL IN PLACE?

We’ll be asking you to continue to wear masks while indoors on the church site.  We have some disposable ones but for the sake of the environment please try to remember to bring your own. Hand sanitiser will be available in a few different locations and we ask you to use that regularly. Windows and doors will remain open to increase ventilation so dress accordingly. We’ll have some seating that is more spaced out than normal so that if you are feeling cautious you can choose to sit down the sides or at the back of church. We’ll be asking everyone to be mindful of social contact and the preferences of others who may not feel comfortable shaking hands or sitting close to someone else.

WILL THERE BE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY?

Yes, children’s groups are back!  As with Sunday morning youth, we are still seeking more team members to ensure they can be sustainable.

Little Saints (creche) will be open for 0-3 year olds and parents will be able to drop children and leave them without leaders if they feel comfortable doing so. Places will be limited by the amount of leaders available each Sunday and so you may be asked to stay if necessary. Little Saints meets in the blue room to the left hand side of the hall.

Kids church consists of two groups; Early Years and S-Club. Both meet in the hall. Early Years is for children who are 3 and over up to the end of Reception. They use the left hand door of the hall. S-Club is for school years 1-4 and they use the right hand side door to the hall.

Torches is our group for school years 5-6. They meet in the Red Shed- the wooden building to the righthand side of the hall.

All children will first of all come to the main church building for the beginning of the service. New families, or children new to our groups will be asked to come and register your children at the back of church. During the service, instructions will be given when it’s time to leave for groups.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE BEING TAKEN IN CHILDREN’S GROUPS?

We are really looking forward to welcoming back Children to worship and learn about Jesus in a safe way.

As with the main church building we will be aiming to ventilate all the spaces as thoroughly as possible. Children should bring an extra layer of clothing. Our children’s leaders will be wearing masks when not presenting from the front. We’ll ask the children to sanitise thir hands as they enter the building. Throughout the time we will be spot cleaning and doing a full clean down before and after each service

If your child is experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 please do not bring them to church and instead arrange for them to have a COVID test.

For any questions please contact ruth@allsaintspeckham.org.uk

WHAT ABOUT TEENAGERS?

Sunday Morning Youth is back! We’ll start in the main building with the rest of our church family and leave for our groups when prompted to. Groups will be meeting in the church office, the beach hut and the garden in between when weather permits. Watch out for your leaders who’ll explain where to go. All young people at secondary school are welcome along to Sunday Morning Youth.  For any questions please contact ruth@allsaintspeckham.org.uk.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO SING?

We’re grateful that we are now permitted to sing along with worship indoors. We’ll continue to keep our masks on as we do this. God still hears and won’t mind the slight muffled effect!

WILL THERE BE AN OFFERING?

Yes there are a number of ways you can give to church on Sundays. We are trying to find low risk ways of passing round the offering baskets. If you miss those you can donate via the welcome team or using the contactless card machine at the back of church.  Find out more about regular giving and gift aid at www.allsaintspeckham.org.uk/how-to-give.

WILL THERE BE TEA & COFFEE?

Yes, this Sunday we are bringing back post-service tea and coffee refreshments. We have a skeletal team ready to do this but really need more help to continue. Unlike before the pandemic, we’ll be serving this in church so that it’s easily available to everyone. If you can help in future weeks please message hello@allsaintspeckham.org.uk
