Women in the week
Something wonderful happens when women get together. If you are a woman at All Saints it is my prayer that you will find us to be a place of supportive, prayerful encouragement where meaningful relationships are fostered across boundaries that the world puts up.
We are a church with many nationalities, ages, stages, wages and careers but we are united by one thing - a love for Jesus. He brings us together. When we gather we find ourselves talking, laughing, crying and sharing the journey of following Christ in our different situations. As women of All Saints we get together at several points in the week and year and we welcome you to join us when it is convenient for you. Please do have a look on these pages at the various activities and come along when you can.
I pray with Paul that we as women at All Saints will be
"rooted and established in love (and) may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and (that we would) know this love that surpasses knowledge (and be) filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Eph 3:17-19
Tuesday Women
Tuesday Women is open to any woman who happens to be around on a Tuesday morning. It may be that you work part time, do shift work or are at home with young children or teenagers. Whatever your circumstances we would love to welcome you on a Tuesday morning.
The format of the morning is friendly and relaxed. A real cross section of All Saints women come: new mothers with babes in arms; women taking a morning away from work; carers of toddlers and parents of teenagers. We meet from 9.45am for coffee and cakes in the Church Hall chatting and catching up with one another. Then at 10.15am the crèche begins, Alpha starts, and we gather for worship.
We worship together often experiencing a powerful sense of the presence of the Lord, then we hear a short talk from the Bible. This term the topic is "The Names and Character of God". We then break into small groups led by Amy Orr-Ewing, Layla Matthews and Ioanna Eju-Konem to discuss what we have heard and to lay hands on one another and pray for each other. Mothers of small babies may keep them with them but the rest of the children have fun together until the crèche finishes at 11.45am. This time in groups together - listening to and praying for each other is precious as friendships and support networks are formed, joys and sorrows are shared with tears and laughter - we have learned to expect miracles and answered prayers. Whether you come every week or can only make it occasionally we would love to see you there.
Women's Bible Study
At the same time as Tuesday Women we also hold a mum's Bible study, discussion and prayer group together with the children led by Helen Price. Following cakes and coffee with the rest of Tuesday Women, when Alpha starts we break into this group keeping our children with us. The format of the group is relaxed and intimate and includes a time of uplifting Bible study (the series we recently chose covered the spiritual challenges of motherhood - most relevant!) and animated discussion, followed by "share, prayer and pastoral care". With the emphasis very much on informality and flexibility, the relaxed environment is perfect for those with little ones who don't settle in crèche.
Wednesday Women's Prayer
Meeting at 6.30am in Church House women gather from across our community to seek God, worship and pray together. There is a delicious breakfast and wonderful times of intercession, prophecy, ministry and prayer. It is a brilliant way to start the day. You can leave whenever you need to, to get off to work or back home to your family but we finish by 8.00am. If you are a woman in All Saints we would love to welcome you to this prayer meeting.
