What does it look like day to day
Whilst on the PUMP scheme you will be placed in a
team focusing on a specific area of ministry in church life:
Young Saints Team
The Young Saints team runs a wide range of activities for Children and young people up to the age of 18. As a PUMP you will be involved in after school clubs, outreach on the local estates, discipleship, mentoring, schools work, holiday clubs, trips and weekends away. If you are creative and full of energy and are keen to see young people come to know Jesus and develop in their faith, this team is a great opportunity to really get stuck in.
Families Team
In this team, you will be encouraging and supporting local people in their journey of faith. You would be involved in the parenting course, the parents and toddlers group, projects such as helping decorate homes of Offender's families and the discipleship course. It will also include praying with and supporting individuals and you will play a big part in the famous and hugely successful All Saints international evening. If you have a heart for the local community and want to see what the gospel message of loving God and loving one another looks like in real life, this team is a great opportunity to do that!
Student Team
The student team is about building relationships, encouraging students to grow in their walk with God and helping them to find their way in this vibrant city. You will be working with people from all over the world who have been drawn to London to study at one of the universities here. You will be involved in student small groups, campus outreach and fellowship groups. If you are friendly and outgoing and love meeting new people, the student team could be the team for you!
Youth Team
On the youth team we run a wide range of activities for 11-18 year olds. This includes mentoring, discipleship groups, detatched work on local estates, school clubs,
performing arts workshops, trips and weekends away. The youth are also involved in sponsoring children and other fund raising events with the church. As part of this team, you need to be passionate about engaging young people who usually have minimal church experience and helping them discover faith and their place in the church family.
Support
You will have daily contact with your Ministry Team leader and will also meet with them one on one weekly to discuss tasks, training and development.
As part of a team you will also work closely with other PUMPs and mutually support one another. You will meet monthly with the PUMP Scheme Co-ordinator to chat about any pastoral issues or concerns that arise through out the year.
